Sizing Your Nails
Sizing Your Nails
Option One: (Highly Recommend)
Purchase a size kit.
A size kit includes all sizes (00-9) of the shape and length (ex. coffin/medium or almond/short) of your choice. Make sure the nail tip fits side wall to side wall on your natural nail with no overhang on the skin. Measure every single one of your nails. Once you've figured out the best fitting nail, write down your sizes on the size kit and take a picture for future reference.
Example:
Left 1, 4.5, 3, 4, 7 (Thumb, index, middle, ring, pinky)
Right 1, 4, 3, 4, 8
Option Two:
Measure your nails in millimeters.
Supplies needed: ruler or soft ruler, tape, pen. Please be aware there is room for error when measuring vs using a sizing kit.
Step 1
Place tape (or soft ruler) on nail and use pen to mark edges of nail. Make sure to measure the tape at the widest part of your nail.
Step 2
Place the tape on a flat surface and measure in millimeters.
Write down your measurements for each nail.
Example (Thumb, index, middle, ring, pinky)
Left 15mm, 11mm, 12mm, 11mm, 8mm
Right 15mm, 11mm, 12mm, 11mm, 8mm
Step 3
Determine your sizes according to the chart or select your size according to the standard sizes below.
